Eleganza Stables is a family story where we are passionated about the horse, the sport, the pedigree and the breeding. We are dedicated to reproduced and to develop horses who will perform in dressage and/or jumping rings.
Dressage rider since more than 25 years, passionated by the horse and it's world since her childhood, the breeding, the pedigrees,... Priscilla is the co-owner, administrator and manager of the stable and co-owner and manager of the tack store Sellerie Eleganza. Animal health technician graduated from St-Hyacinthe, she built the fisrt barn (3 boxs) with her grand-father in 2009 after buying the property the same year.
Even if he arrived later in the horse world, the co-owner Claude is the dedicated daddy's barn. The one who feed the hay the evening and who made the treat tour after just for their pleasure. The one who will be here when you need help, who will be sure than all his girls are ok and don't need anything. The second pillar of the business. Claude is too the co-owner of the tack store Sellerie Eleganza.
Daughter of Claude and Priscilla, Eleana is, we wish, the changing of the stable. Since a young age, she likes to come to make the barn turn, feeds the horses, cleans the stalls, sweepes, gives kisses and hugs, and takes riding lessons.
The adventure start in 2008, after my studies, when I bought Manikoutai STE, a CW mare by Landslide (Landgraf I) who was one of the horses of my trainers and friends Claude Morier and France Pérusse from Écuries Ste-Étienne. Follow a true love story between Manie and me. She was my dancing partner in the dressage ring, my best friend, my confident. We growth together as dressage team from Training level to Prix St-George and has individuals. In 2009, I bought the owned by my grand-parents and together, we decided to build a small stable for to have Manie with us. In the same time, I decided to try to breed Manikoutai. After several failures to conceived, some unsucessfull attemps for embryo transfert, we found than Manie was suffering of Cushing disease and I must to let down this project.
Despite the failures with Manikoutai, the breeding was an exciting adventure for me and I decided to rent a friend's mare for to use my breeding contract. This is how I started in the breeding world. But the life of breeding is cruel and my first filly (Nemo's full sister) born in 2012, died at the foaling of a dystocia and I lost the mother some weeks after. Tragedy... But I refused to let down. This is how Royal Spice come to joined us for her sport retirement, an other Claude Morier's mare. This same year, 2012, I started the construction of the barn's extension with 10 more boxes. Later, we bought Romanee Conti and Nemo and the adventure was officially started.
As a animal health technician graduated, I consider than all aspects of the horse health, physical and mental are important. For our broodmares, who are our foundations, the handling, the grooming, the farrier, the vet, the stable management, the releases, the happiness and well-being, all this is important to considered and must to be updated. Their health and their comfort are priority. We believe than an happy mom will made the best babies. If they are in trust, calm, brave and comfortable, they will educated their foals as this and later, this babies will be in trust and all will be easier when they will started the real life as sporthorse.
Only one way to do? This is not what we believed! We thing that each horse has her personnality and we try to respect it as more as possible, as much for the stable management than for the sports orientation later.
We work a lot with rewards with our horses. No treats for the youngters, but caresses, itching and the voice are generously distributed. All must be a positive and educational experience for our young horses, from birth to all the time they passed with us.
Since many years, for the crucial phase that is the unbacking, we work with the renowned professional service Aristo (Jean-Michel Genouel).
We want to produced talented horses for high levels in dressage/jumper (even if it’s not the main goal of our program, some of them could also become serious hunter/eventer competitors) with good health, talent and very good interior qualities than ambitious A/A and juniors will considered for the perfect partner. just like professional riders. Temperament, rideability, willingness to work, character, all this things are highly considered in our stallions choices as much as the pedigree and the sports skills. This is the same considerations we use for our broodmares.
